It’s so easy to get into a rut as a guitar player – no matter what style you play or choose to play -sometimes if you stay purely within that style the danger is that you end up knowing more and more about less and less –
and this is why
it can be good to experience different styles – different ways of approaching playing –
so yes You may still
have a main interest in playing rock, blues, metal or indie styles – and yet exploring other styles such as Funk which is what happened at the sunday jam can;t help but add another dimension to your playing
and deepen your intimate understanding –
as You’ll see in the above video complete with guitar solos, bass and drum solo- and one student even lying down to take a solo – and why not! It’s all about the fun of bringing together all the things that You have learned in a live band setting – without the pressure of a live audience, lights or even being on stage!
