Priming Your Musical Mind is all about getting focussed on Guitar, ensuring that when Your hands are on the Guitar, Your eyes are on Guitar that Your Mind is also on the Guitar.

If for example You have ever experienced

trying to play something You know You can already actually Play but,

 it is not happening for You on a particular day when You try and Play-

then chances are You had a stressfull day – Your hands are on Guitar but Your Mind is someplace else

Or perhaps You are constantly trying to race ahead… trying to walk before You can run, Because

As an Achiever that is what You likely do on a day to day basis… constantly pushing

You need to first and foremost Prime Your Musical Mind,

Absolutely key that You get this right first – where You learn to really engage with Music, something You can do in Your NET (Non-essential time) away from the guitar, perhaps on the way back from work, or even at the Gym, by focussing on the Music You are looking to learning – one of the 7 main Priming Techniques You can do can be as simple as tapping along with the beat, since most backing tracks for example have a four click count, You can simply start  by tapping along to the click and maintaining that click – and because Your brain loves a beat this can be a great way to re-focus Your mind onto Music.

The next Step is focussing on specific Transition Points,

And You do this using something I call the Attention Tri-Fecta the Attention where You

not only isolate the part You are looking to Play first, but also

focus Your attention in specific ways between Your fretting hand, Your Strumming/ Picking Hand also

The Actual Music and then it is through a Continuous Motion Of Music Making Evolution that You bring Your Playing to life.

And here’s why – Because in order for Your Guitar Playing to Feel Motivational, it has to be both MeaningFull and ultimately sound musicla – if what You are Playing does not sound Musical, nor You Understand How What You are Playing relates to Meaningfull Music, then all too ofetn its so easy to just not play it.

Again it doesn’t matter whether the styles of Music, the soundtrack that has helped shape Your life that You want to re-discover is about rock, classic rock, Blues, or perhaps Indie Styles…
